I was wondering... Is swing trade similar to scalping? I'd appreciate a lengthy answer from you, guys. Thank you.

Swing trading is very different from scalping.

In swing trading, you have a longer term outlook and would probably look to leave your position open from 1 to 10 days. In scalping, traders look to make money off fast fluctuations and moves. These can last anywhere from 10 seconds to a few minutes. Scalpers try to take a few pips here and there and get in and out of trades very very quickly.

With that said, scalpers normally exit when they are down a couple of pips, while swing traders normally put on wider stops to give breathing room for all the big moves that could happen at any time.

If you are looking to do swing trading, you should always be aware of any news that is coming out.

There isn't exactly a "best" currency pair for swing trading. This depends on the fundamentals of the countries involved. I guess the best pair to trade would be one that involves a very strong currency paired with a very weak one. That's because swing trading involves more of a long-term outlook. Unlike scalping, swing trading has to do with the longer-term trends and not the "noise" in the shorter term time frames.
