Hi,
The BOJ (Bank of Japan) and Japanese Government have an interest in keeping the Yen from strengthening because they rely heavily on exporting goods. In order to keep there exports at a competitive price in the global market, they must weaken the Yen to keep their biggest importers from moving away to other sources.
