I’m looking for the best pair that is not dependent on the majors?

I guess any pair that doesn't include any of the major currencies. But I don't trade exotic pairs because of lower liquidity. Hope this helped :)

Any pair that does not have one of the major 8 currencies as the base or counter currency. However, I don't think anyone would trade non-major currencies on a regular basis.
