What, if anything, do you use to trade outside of your main terminal? (ie:blackberry, iphone, laptop air card?

Im looking to expand the times i can trade by making it more accessible.

The only thing i use outside my computer is my blackberry, specially to see the value of the currencies. But thats it. I prefer to set aside a part of my day to trade and focus only in forex, than to be in all places at all times trying to trade.

I can't fully recommend you live trading on mobile now but there are a lot of advantages so you can give it a try on demo. More about this topic on http://pipburner.com/pros-and-cons-...

Like fxmegaforex, i just use my handheld device to check the prices when i'm not able to access my pc. I'm also trying to keep a schedule when it comes to trading so that i won't be tempted to take impulse trades.

i totally agree. i set aside my time at 6pm 7pm and 3am local eastern time to trade yen aussie and cable. The reason i ask is that i have softball starting and the games are at 6:30 and 8pm so i was looking for something that i could use to execute a trade or at least close a position while im not near my terminal. How do you like the blackberry? Do you use a trading software on it? Or do you just use a news service?

I don't trade using an outside terminal. Although i do have a blackberry, i only use it to check quotes. It's simply not reliable enough. I don't think anyone can make thoroughly analyze the markets through their phones alone.

If you're trading a significant amount, i would suggest investing in an internet air card as a backup. It would be really useful in times of emergencies. Like any business, you should have contingency plans in place just in case something happens! You wouldn't want to be in the middle of trading and suddenly lose your connection!

its funny you say that because it just happened to me last week. I have another unit running parallel so when it went down i just slid over to the other machine.
