How many lots is too much?
Is there a specific number that traders won't take for fear that they may not get filled?

I believe that this has more to do with how much you are willing to risk per trade. At BabyPips.com, we suggest risking just 1% of your account on any trade. With the development of retail brokers in the past few years, it is much easier to trade with custom lots, which benefits retail traders. Just be sure you calculate how big your position size should BEFORE entering any trade.

I don't think there's a specific limiting number of lots because the forex market is very liquid and those orders are still likely to get filled. But, just like Cyclopip mentioned, a certain number of lots can be too much for a particular trader depending on his risk preferences.

It has alot to do with account balence. For example, if I have a 10k account, trying to leverage 5 standard lots is crazy compared to someone who has 150k accaount who can do that comfortably.
