How long can I leave a trade that I entered open?
Can I leave my trade open for a month or a year? Do brokers allow that?

Yes, you can leave the trade you entered open because your broker will close and re-open your position at about the same price everyday. If you leave it for a month, this process goes on and on; that is, as long as you can handle the drawdown. Brokers definitely allow this because they make money every time they close and re-open the trade.

Brokers will allow you leave your trade on, for as long as you want but swap will be deducted per night, for every night you leave the trade on. However why will you want to leave a trade on for as long as a month when you can achieve your optimum by setting your "take profit" having achived your targeted profit and your stop loss to minimise your loss. What makes you an efficient trader is how much profit you make and you minimise your loss and not for how long you leave your trade on. By Olayinka Olaniyi.

It depends on your broker. I would recommend you contact them to get the best answer.

As long as the trade doesn't go against you and get you margin called. That could be forever or in the next 5 minutes depending on your position size.
