In my opinion, the best platform for beginners is MT4.

It's the easiest one and has a lot of useful Forex indicators, EAs or strategies.

Metatrader 4 is the best and I will tell you why it is the best for beginners. First, it is very user-friendly. Second, many people use it and you can always find advice on the Internet. Third, it is very functional.
Demo trade first to get the feel.
For brokers offering Metatrader 4, there are many of them. I personally tried a couple and now trade with Forex-Metal and find it satisfactory.

I would also say MetaTrader 4 since it's the most popular platform and many custom indicators, EA's etc.

I really like FXCM's Trading Station though.
I would use it if it just had more support with EA's because it's basic tools are way better than MT4 imo.

You can check out reviewpips.com too for a lot more info about different trading platforms.
