Trading using only indicators is bad or good?
Some traders say trading that only relies on indicators results in losing in the long run. How much is this true?

To each his own, I say.
Some traders purely trade using technicals, and end up profitable. Some large financial institutions even make use of black box systems or in retail trader speak "EAs" that rely purely on indicators and end up with wins. Then again, these systems were developed by people with PHDs.

It would help to complement your analysis based on technical indicators with fundamental/economic analysis. This way, you'd have a general idea of the currency's price movement in both the short term and the long term. Aside from that, staying abreast on upcoming economic reports could alert you on sudden price movements or spikes in volatility.
