It depends on what time frame are you going to trade.

Most answers here are right, that it really depends on how you are going to execute your trades. The important thing, is that you base your analysis around the time frame you are going to trade, and select three charts for different time periods. A short, middle and long duration. You want there to be enough time between each chart so that they don't show the same movements.
For instance, no point chosing a 1 min and 2 min chart when scalping as the 2 min will show all the moves more or less fromt eh 1 min chart. The short range should be used to identify entry points, the mid for range, and the third for long term trend.

@PipColector thanks for sharing that video. In these YouTube channel scans for new trade setups take place on three time frames.
First each currency pair is looked at on the daily charts, followed by the 4 hour and finally looking if there are any 1 hour chart setups.

If I were you I would probably first check out the 1day Chart, so i could get the big picture.
If you are a day trader, you pretty much check out 1day-4hour-1hour charts.
If you are a scalper you check out the lower time frames, like 1hour-30-15minutes.
But remember the lower time frames always respond to the movement of the big charts, so draw your trade lines, or get the software to do that for you and try to figure out the trend, from then you can check out every time frame and see what's going on. You should totally check the school of pipsology if you didn't.
