As far as candle sticks charts are concern, do i need to acquaint myself with the heiiken ashin sticks too?

You don't "need" to acquaint yourself with heiken-ashi sticks too. A few indicators and some candlestick patterns coupled with support and resistance levels could work just as well. Still, additional knowledge is never really bad and learning about heiken-ashi sticks could help.

To add to forex ninja's answer, if you are using meta trader, you can take a look link i've provided below. I suggest that you do more reading on heikin ashi patterns, and be sure to do some back-testing before trying it out on a live account. Good luck!

Learning about heiiken ashin candlesticks could help but that's not exactly a requirement! In fact, just learning about the basic candlestick patterns and combining this with simple technical tools could be enough.
