This is a very general question that I see all the time in forums. There's no right answer until you know a trader's situation and trading style. What works for one trader may not work for another, especially if they have completely different trading styles.

But to answer the question, most platforms are similar in function and features and I would first TEST out some of the bigger brokers who are regulated and have large capitalization.

Best thing to do is visit the BabyPips.com broker guide and learn how to ask yourself the right questions before going on a broker/platform search.

If you are talking about what platform to choose. My advice - MT4. It's easy to use, understand and use external features as Forex robots or indicators.

For example, here is a good place to choose Forex robots: http://www.forexeasystems.com/

Hope my answer helped you

I would say, use the MetaTrader Platform. The use of templates make it easy to have all of your setups look the same across all timeframes and currency pairings. I also think that the layout is the best, with charting information on the top of the screen and profit/loss info on the bottom. Also, if your broker has good tools that you can load in, this makes it even better..I persoanlly use the MT4 platform from www.ibfx.com
