As a person that has worked on a lot of systems coding with trading, let me say that it is not easy to put what you do into a computer program and there is now way I would sell the work I have done for $97-$197, like you see these other "gurus" doing. That said I will address the issues.
Computers cannot think or anticipate, the just act. Systems are designed to really profit from trends or from channels. That is why robots lose so often and the person running them goes broke because you will make money with a trending robot in a trending market but will give it all back in a channeling market and vice versa with a channeling robot.
If you know what type of robot you have and you know something about trading then you can shut it off in the market that will take all of your wins back.
Here's my recommendation, if you need help getting into the market get something can signal you to enter but manage your own trades and money. If you don't believe me, watch Will Smith's Irobot, that can and most of the time does happen with you money.

I absolutely agree with being enough of an expert to know when to pull an EA due to market conditions. I much prefer a signals service, and then I know that humans are assessing the market technically, fundamentally, and analytically. It is hard to find a good signals service as well, but check some forums. . .there are a select few great ones out there, and while some cost upwards of $200/month, some are less than $100/month! For a consistent return, that is next to nothing in my book!Good luck on your Forex journey. . .pip away!

Darth made the point. I'm not saying that there are no profitable robots out there. But before you go with the robot, I urge you to learn how to trade manually. Thus it is said if you can't manage your trade manually, you'll also cant manage your robot.
So how about the profitable robot traders? Until today I haven't found people who dont know how to trade profitably in manual but they are becoming rich with just one click robot. Usually after they managed to trade with their own bare-hands, they began to automate (or semi-automate) their system and ADJUST it in regular basis according to market conditions.
One of good example is Ronald Raygun of Forex Factory. He is just a 19 yrs old trader who made thousands with his robots. But Ronald in my opinion really know WHAT is his robots doing and HOW is the market condition in certain times. He coded many robots (about 30 bots) and use it appropriately with the market condition. So the bottom line is, if he lost all of his robots, he still can trade it manually.
Do your homework! Do it in correct way.
